The EUROPEAN PHOTOCHEMISTRY ASSOCIATION is a non-profit organization that aims to promote the development of photochemistry in Europe and neighbouring countries, encouraging contact between photochemists. The association is interested in all the experimental and theoretical aspects concerning the interaction of light with molecular systems, including both fundamental knowledge and applications in different scientific areas such as materials science, biology, medicine and environmental sciences.
The EPA is primarily active via:
- The ownership and publication of the peered-reviewed scientific journal “Photochemical and Photobiological Sciences”.
- The publication of the “EPA Newsletter”.
- Prestigious awards in the field of Photochemistry.
- The organization of summer schools on selected aspects and the active involvement in international symposia and conferences.
- Offering its members a discussion forum and information exchange via its website and e-mailing list.
- Collaborating with the Photochemistry Commission of the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry and sister scientific societies to foster intercontinental cooperation.
